USERS
Anybody can view the BAKERY models on the site but other features such as 'searching', adding topics and email priviledges are limited to signed-up and logged-in customers.

First time users are required to validate their e-mail address with an activator code sent by the site at sign-up.

Anybody can apply to join this website - once accepted users are expected to handle their membership in a 'professional' manner

Users are required to provide enough personal information to permit us to check your authenticity.

Users may select what information is actually shown on the site.

Users fall into one of four categories photographer, model, MUA/stylist and associate - associates are registered users without images such as studio owners and model agency folk who may have work available.

User names are logged and managed as lowercase, towns are treated in the same way to facilitate listing and searching.

Users may only have one account unless specifically agreed with the webmaster before a second account is requested.

So far this has not been allowed as it works around these guidelines

Any user abusing the priviledges of using this site will be suspended and in extreme cases just deleted.

Any user wanting to debate these guidelines should do so by emailing the webmaster.

FOLIOS
Users can set up and manage their own portfolios with a gallery containing one or more rooms of pictures

The capacity of each room is 80 images

The maximum number of rooms is 80 for BAKERY customers who may have up to 6000 images on file here

For users who are not BAKERY customers, the total number of folio images is limited to 100 - when this limit is reached the 'upload' option will disappear - uploads will only be allowed every 10 days

Images must be tasteful but those showing bold nudity or extreme fetish must be marked 'adult' so that people can choose what to see

Models under 18 years are required to post age compatible images

All images require the copyright holders name to be attached.

Folios without pictures may be removed after 7 days from sign-up

All types of images are welcome but preference is given to studio based ones. Irrelevant images considered to be of little merit and therefore no interest will be removed.

Images are normalised at upload to fit inside a 768h x 1024w window
(This means you should resize the picture to be 768 pixels high or 1024 wide to avoid the site resizing it. In the unusual case the picture is exactly 768x1024, it is just fine.)

Please note that images over 500kb will be rejected at upload.

Most of the management of your folio is under the 'myself' tab after logging in.

Please set the preferences to suit your needs.

Also it is a good iddea to periodically run the folio health check to ensure all your images display properly.

Your images can be rotated after upload.

You can amend titles, captions etc after upload.

Once a room is established you can sort the pictures into the order you require.

Pictures may be offered for sale by copyright holders, prices are in sterling and the seller can set the print size.

Users with folios which have no pictures are normally hidden - you can change this in 'preferences'.

Folio listings include distance from BAKERY or yourself (see prefs) last login date and sign-up date as well as important characteristics.

You can find a user by entering only part of their name, Ja will find Jan, Jane, and Janet - if this fails, you are offered a 'wildcard' search, ie the site will list everyone with the entered letters somewhere in their name.

We only accept .jpg files.

Folios which are being exploited to advertise other sites not directly related to the photography or modelling of the user will be removed.

Links to 3rd party websites are only allowed for customers.

We do not allow linking to prnography sites.

We will remove accounts for those we consider ineligible users - we log IPs and all routing data.

ADULT MARKER - sometimes displays pictures as Hidden Image in a red box.

this feature allows each user to use their discretion and mark images as ' unsuitable for viewing by under 18's '.

if in doubt - mark it adult=y in the uploader, it can also be amended in the edit picture option under the myself button.

Please note that adult images do NOT appear on the home page even if they have just been uploaded.

Users are only allowed 5% of their images to be adult.

PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR VIEW ON 'ADULT' IS QUITE DEFINITIVE, IMAGES WHICH OFFEND THE PARENTS OF OUR YOUNGER USERS MUST BE MARKED 'ADULT'

WE ARE NOT USING THE ADULT MARKER IN THE TOP SHELF SENSE - JUST TO MAKE THE SITE MORE PLEASANT TO VIEW FOR THE MAJORITY

PICTURES WHICH YOU WOULD NOT SHOW TO YOUR FAMILY AND NEIGHBOURS SHOULD BE MARKED 'ADULT' HERE

IF YOU FEEL THAT IS UNREASONABLE - PLEASE POST THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE - WE RUN THE SITE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE BAKERY

The BAKERY is about promoting the awareness, interest and training in the visual arts and related crafts - this imples some basic expectation that images are included because they have something positive to offer.

Images which are just technically poor will be be marked adult or removed, if they shock / offend / or make me feel sick.

Logged-in users have the opportunity to 'report' images which they feel should carry the adult marker

Outright porn will be deleted and the user will be suspended

CALLING CARDS
This is a method of leaving a short message for users who don't have email or they don't respond to email (possibly because the address changed) Under the 'myself' tab you will find the cards page showing who has left cards for you and a second table showing calling cards you have left.

You can delete your cards (actually, we just mark them they are still there!) .

The person for whom you leave a card will be alerted at login and given the option to mark the card as seen.

Good communication relies on knowing contact data so feel free to leave a mobile number or private email address on your calling card - only the addressee can see it.

To test the system leave one for yourself! - log off and log back on.

PREFERENCES
users can choose to view or NOT view adult images / the number of rows in the folios page / thumbnail sizes, number of rows, number of columns and picture sizes (also set automatically when changed in use) 'prefs' is under 'myself'.

(Pictures will be copyright watermarked by default eventually !- this can be disabled under prefs - the colour and opacity of the watermark can be adjusted by the user).

TERMS
Users agree to our terms by signing up and uploading images.

Copyright MUST be assigned to each image when uploaded.

By uploading an image the user is confirming that an age-appropriate model was used to produce the image.

Users are required to use the default 'image adult=y' flag where their picture is unsuitable for under 18's.

We frown on users having their main folio picture as 'adult' .

Users who are entitled to download copies of images are advised that the best quality is when psiz=5 is in the URL address - this is also the best size to reload images to BAKERY People.

The larger/smaller buttons should be used to change the value of psiz .

STATS & PING
Once signed up and when logged back in you can see who is on-line at BAKERY People - sometimes people close the browser without using the 'logoff' button which we can't detect

If a user is shown as logged-on there will be a 'ping' button besides their username.

You can click this and send an alert to the user suggesting you meet on the ChatLine.

this page also shows what has been happening since users last login and provide live statistics about the site.

EMAIL
BAKERY People provides an hidden email address service which allows messages to be sent to members with portfolios.

This allows some users to communicate with our members without giving out a personal email address until they are confident about the new contact.

Email addresses are not stored here.

Emails generated are copied to the site database and become available when you log in - it is polite to erase emails no longer required.

Users exploiting the email service to get around not being allowed to comment or add forum topics will be deleted without notice.

FORUM
This is provided to allow the exchange of ideas and to advertise shoot opportunities and model availability.

Each entry is heavily moderated using a large amount of common sense and decency.

Users should be careful about what personal information is included in forum postings.

Customers may start a new forum topic, other users can only reply to existing topics. Customers abusing their priviledge to the benefit of other users will be suspended.

Spamming is not allowed.

Bad language and/or unacceptable postings will be removed.

Users can edit their own posts.
